I have been practising acupuncture for over 18 years, both privately and in an NHS medical practice in Sheffield, relocating to this area in 2007. During this time I have treated many people  with various health challenges and have gained great satisfaction from helping them to improve.

Three rates for high, medium, low waged. £35, £30, £25 per session. Add £10 for first appointment. Part LETS accepted for first 5 sessions.

I do not wish to exclude anyone because of cost so please speak to me if necessary.  A course of around 5 to 10 weekly sessions is often necessary, depending on the severity of the problem. I am happy to do one-off taster sessions also.

Treatment costs can be reimbursed by some health schemes such as HSA.

 

SPECIFIC EMPHASIS 

Acupuncture is part of an ancient system of healing in China where it has been practised for hundreds of years. It is used to treat almost any health problem  such as painful joints, migraine, irritable bowel syndrome, menstrual problems, infertility, anxiety, facial paralysis, chronic fatigue, skin problems and much more. I also offer a service for induction of overdue babies and pre-birth acupuncture to promote natural labour                 

Acupuncture is based on the belief that the balance of an underlying energy (or Qi) in our bodies is responsible for our wellbeing. This Qi can be upset by a number of factors such as lifestyle, diet, emotions, injuries or infections. Or we might have constitutional imbalances. This imbalance leads to symptoms or disease.

The acupuncturist decides exactly how the patient is out of balance by asking a number of questions and by observing the patient's pulse and tongue.

Fine, sterile needles are then inserted (fairly painlessly) into points along channels where the Qi flows in order to restore harmony and health to the patient. They are retained for around 20 minutes during which a deep feeling of relaxation is usually experienced.I like to work in a calm, unhurried environment to allow patients to relax and I usually stay with the patient during the whole treatment .
