Counselling can help us to get in touch with our similarities to others as well as our uniqueness, and to sense our common strivings, helping ease our sense of isolation. All of us no doubt could, at certain seasons in our lives, benefit from counselling.
WHAT I OFFER
My approach to counselling is both humanistic and transpersonal. I view the client as a partner in our work together, responsible for where she or he wants that work to go. I provide attention, respect, and companionship on the journey, as well as information and guidance when appropriate. My intention is to create a sense of spaciousness and safety in which the client can contemplate the possibility of change.
PRACTICE DAYS/TIMES
Generally 12:30 to 5:00 weekdays.
Occasional weekend slots when necessary.
QUALIFICATION/PROFESSIONAL BODIES
MA in Counselling Psychology.
Illinois State certification – Senior Addictions Counsellor.
TRAINING
Addictions Counselling — Chemical Dependency training and experience in Chicago, Ill.
Bereavement Counselling – Cruse UK
Advanced Enneagram Training for professional psychotherapists with Helen Palmer, in London ( 1998 ) and Bristol ( 1993, 2001, and 2005 )
Enneagram Professional Teacher training with Helen Palmer – part 1 in 2002, part 2 in 2005.
EXPERIENCE
Over 40 years, including 10 in hospital rehabilitation programmes for chemically dependent patients and their families; one year as addictions counsellor in a marriage and family therapy agency; and private practice.
FEES
£45 for individual one hour session; £55 for couple.
